NEA RA Washington DC

WOEA awards 14 scholarships to WOEA delegates to attend the NEA RA.  Delegates (non-state) can apply for a $1,000 scholarship to help cover expenses to attend the NEA RA. The scholarships are $1,000 each, not to exceed the OEA state-funded NEA delegate reimbursement combined with local funding. The scholarship recipient must provide verification of the amount of local funding in the form of a copy of the documentation provided by the local's treasurer. Receipts will be required for reimbursement and must be submitted to the WOEA office.  All participants are responsible for their own RA registration, travel and hotel accommodations.

Information about the NEA RA can be found on the NEA website.

  • Expenses will be paid by the applicant and reimbursed by WOEA
  • Applicants must complete and submit an expense voucher and report to assist WOEA in knowing the value of the event to the recipient and to WOEA.
  • Applications will not be accepted past deadlines.
  • If there are more applicants than scholarships, a waiting list will be maintained should there be cancellations.
  • If a scholarship recipient does not use an awarded scholarship, that member will be excluded from consideration for future scholarships for a period of three (3) years.
  • WOEA will notify local presidents regarding the scholarships WOEA awards to members of that local.
